Estimator

Kier Group are looking for an Estimator to join our Strategic Projects business unit on a major scheme in the Defence sector at RAF Cranwell in Lincolnshire.

Our Strategic Projects business delivers major projects across the Custodial, Life Science, Commercial, Defence and Healthcare sectors on a national scale.

 

Location: Cranwell, Sleaford

Hours: Full time, permanent. Flexible working options are available.

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

 

What will you be responsible for?

As an Estimator you will work as part of the project and pre-construction team.

Your day to day will include:

  • Prepare and submit competitive tenders that maximise revenue and profit
  • Estimate project costs and resources, negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Guide junior estimators and promote best practice across the team
  • Collaborate with design, planning, commercial, and bid teams to optimise submissions
  • Build strong commercial relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners
  • Support project handovers and ensure smooth transition to fulfilment teams
  • Provide accurate reports and forecasts to support decision-making

 

What are we looking for?

The role of an Estimator is great for you if you have:

  • Experience in a Tier 2 (or above) Main Contractor environment
  • Proficiency in Excel and Estimating System Software
  • A detail-oriented and conscientious approach to work
