Ganger
We're looking for a Ganger to join our Southwest Water team based in Paignton.
Location: Paignton
Hours: 45 per week, shifts covering Monday to Sunday
We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.
Join our Southwest Water contract team where no two days are the same. As a Ganger, you'll play a vital role in coordinating safe and efficient operations across repairs and maintenance services. You'll be working on diverse schemes including mains laying, pressure management, district metering, and complex repairs, helping to deliver reliable water and wastewater services to communities across the region. This is an excellent opportunity to bring your skills and experience to a supportive team environment where your contribution truly matters.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Ganger, you'll be working within the NRNN team, supporting them in delivering high-quality water infrastructure projects. Your day to day will include:
- Collaborating with the Site Agent to establish safe working methodologies and ensure all plant and materials are available
- Conducting site risk assessments and clearly communicating these to your team
- Organising and prioritising the workload for your shift
- Leading and directing your team to achieve agreed activities safely and efficiently
- Ensuring all works are completed to the required standard whilst maintaining safety at all times
What are we looking for?
This role of Ganger is great for you if you:
- Have previous utilities experience, particularly in the water industry
- Hold a Full driving licence
- Possess NRSWA Operative, Water hygiene card, and SHEA water passport qualifications
- Are Cat & Genny trained
- Enjoy working collaboratively and building strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
