We're looking for a Senior Site Manager to join our Craig Millar & Peffermill team based in Edinburgh.

Location: Craig Millar & Peffermill, Edinburgh
Hours: 42.5 per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

As a Senior Site Manager, you'll be involved in the delivery of retrofit works on 2 high rise blocks just outside of Edinburgh. The works will involve roofing, external works, internal lift systems, fire suppression systems, and windows to future proof the buildings and offer residents safe, energy efficient homes. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to people's lives while working on a project that combines technical challenge with social impact.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Site Manager, you'll be working within the Craig Millar & Peffermill team, supporting them in delivering high-quality retrofit works. Your day to day will include:

  • Ensuring sub-contractor partners deliver work packages safely and to quality standards, including groundworks, roofing, cladding, and interior fit out
  • Reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements to ensure safe and appropriate working methods
  • Co-ordinating site logistics and movement of plant and labour while maintaining safety standards
  • Managing and developing junior Kier management staff to support their on-job learning
  • Acting as the initial escalation point to resolve site issues and finding solutions with the wider project team

What are we looking for?

This role of Senior Site Manager is great for you if:

  • You have demonstrable experience in a similar role within the construction industry and main contracting environment
  • You demonstrate excellent communication skills and a sound understanding of safe site operations
  • You have solid technical understanding of a wide variety of construction packages
  • You hold a relevant construction qualification (HND/Degree/SVQ or Technical Trade), SMSTS 5 Day Cert, CSCS Card, and First Aid
  • You have strong influencing skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships with on-site sub-contractors

We're all about finding potential here at Kier, and transferrable skills are always welcome! So, even if you don't tick every box, please apply and we can have a chat.
