Handy Person

We're looking for a Handyperson to join our facilities management team working on our Ministry of Justice contract based in North Wales.

 

Location: Covering multiple sites in the North Wales area, including Wrexham, Newtown, Flint and Bangor

Contract: Permanent, full time, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

 

Responsibilities

As a Handyperson, you'll be working within the facilities management team, supporting them in providing the delivery of a Hard Technical services solution to our Ministry of Justice contract. This role will cover up to 12 sites in the North Wales area, with properties including Approved Premises and Probation Offices.

Your day to day will include:

  • Providing planned and reactive general maintenance at sites across the portfolio
  • Carrying out maintenance such as fixing loose carpet, hanging and re-fixing items to walls, patching paintwork and minor drain blockages, re-fixing door handles, loose hinges/items among other tasks
  • Temperature checks, light and appliance testing
  • Occasional replacement of damaged or faulty locks or installation of bolts and padlocks

 

What are we looking for?

This role of Handyperson is great for you if:

  • You have previous experience in similar all-round general maintenance role and be comfortable working within occupied properties
  • You have outstanding communication skills and a proactive attitude
  • You have a clean driving licence and are willing to work on the call out rota which can require evening and weekend callouts
