HGV Driver

We're looking for a HGV Driver to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks team based in Exeter 

 

Location: Exeter 

Hours: 45 hours per week over Monday to Sunday on a shift rota basis - weekend shifts are 1 in 4 on average.  

 

Our Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks division brings the built environment to life, keeping people and businesses connected. In this role, you will be working on our South West Water framework, where we work on repairs and maintenance services to provide reliable, efficient, and high-quality drinking water and wastewater services.

 

What will you be responsible for?

As a HGV Driver, you'll be supporting the team in mains laying, pressure management, district metering and large complex mains repairs.

 

Your day to day will include:

  • Driving a Class 2 HGV Grab Lorry to and from sites across the region, supporting repair and maintenance teams.
  • Removing excavated soil and delivering clean stone for backfilling on public highways and private land.
  • Operating the grab/crane safely and efficiently to assist with site clearance and material handling.
  • Using a tablet to receive job updates, complete risk assessments, and record quality checks.

 

What are we looking for?

This role of Grab Driver is great for you if you hold:

  • A valid driver HGV Class 2 driving licence and CPC
  • Able to get to the depot daily to collect and return the HGV vehicle 
  • Grab experience and knowledge of correct lifting practices
