Highway Inspector
We're looking for a Highway Inspector to join our West Northamptonshire and North Northamptonshire team based in Towcester, Northamptonshire. As a Highway Inspector, you'll play a vital role in keeping our highway network safe and well-maintained.
Location: Towcester, Northamptonshire – hybrid working
Hours: 37.5 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us

What will you be responsible for?
As a Highway Inspector, you'll be working within the Asset Management and Professional Services team, supporting them undertaking walked and driven safety inspections across the highway network, identifying maintenance needs, and helping to rectify defects.
Your day to day will include:
- Undertaking safety inspections on the highway network in accordance with the Highway Safety Inspection Manual and the "Code of Practice Well Managed Highways Infrastructure"
- Recording inspection findings through an asset management system
- Preparing work packs for defect rectification
- Managing your own programme of walked and driven inspections each month
- Promoting wellbeing and ensuring an inclusive workplace where diversity is actively encouraged
What are we looking for?
This Highway Inspector role is ideal for someone who:
- Holds GCSEs (or equivalent qualifications) and has a solid understanding of highway maintenance or a related industry
- Has practical experience working within highways, civil engineering, construction, or infrastructure environments
- Has experience carrying out highway safety inspections, or is keen to develop these skills through training and support
- Enjoys working closely with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders to deliver effective and innovative solutions
- Takes a thorough and disciplined approach to work, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and excellent customer service
