Managing Quantity Surveyor

We're looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our Thames Water Framework team based in Maple Lodge, Rickmansworth.

Location: Maple Lodge, Rickmansworth 
Hours: 45 per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Thames Water Framework team, overseeing commercial project management across multiple water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Working under an Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) Burgundy Book contract, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring cost-effectiveness and regulatory compliance whilst helping to deliver projects that maintain and improve vital public services.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the Thames Water Framework team, supporting them in delivering critical water infrastructure projects. Your day to day will include:

  • Managing cost control, preparing budgets, and producing monthly cost value reconciliations and forecasts
  • Overseeing contract administration and implementing the obligations under the IChemE Burgundy Book
  • Leading procurement processes, including preparing tender documents and evaluating bids
  • Managing payments to subcontractors and monthly applications to the client
  • Mentoring and supporting a commercial team across multiple projects

What are we looking for?

This role of Managing Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:

  • You hold a degree in quantity surveying, construction management, engineering, or a related field
  • You have excellent numeracy and financial management skills
  • You have demonstrable experience with standard forms of contracts and cost control processes
  • You possess strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • You have experience coordinating and managing a team
