We're looking for a MEP Buyer to join our Kier Mechanical & Electrical team at Kier Group

Location: Flexible. Can work remotely and from regional office
Hours: - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

As a MEP Buyer, you'll play a vital role in managing procurement resources across our projects, working to maximise planned gross margin and ensure efficient delivery. You'll be the gatekeeper for material requisitions, building strong supplier relationships and supporting our teams across the UK on complex and challenging projects. This is an opportunity to make a real impact within our established MEP self-delivery business.

What will you be responsible for?

As a MEP Buyer, you'll be working within the Kier Mechanical & Electrical team, supporting them in delivering successful projects through effective procurement and supply chain management. Your day to day will include:

  • Managing and progressing requisitions, ensuring they meet quality standards and company procedures
  • Negotiating with suppliers and raising purchase orders, identifying opportunities for value engineering and innovation
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders across the business
  • Supporting commercial teams with pricing, tender reviews and achieving individual savings targets
  • Ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, maintaining supplier lists and managing invoice queries in a timely manner

What are we looking for?

This role of MEP Buyer is great for you if:

  • You have excellent organisational and administration skills with the ability to plan effectively in a demanding environment
  • You're a strong communicator with excellent customer service skills and can build relationships at all levels
  • You have experience working both as part of a team and on your own initiative
  • You possess commercial negotiation skills and understand procurement models and budget control
  • You're proficient in Microsoft Office and have a proactive, collaborative approach to your work
