Planner

Location: London and Thames Valley.

At Kier, our purpose is to sustainably deliver infrastructure which is vital to the UK. As an MEP Planner, you'll play a crucial role in developing, maintaining, and monitoring MEP programmes across a range of complex projects. Working within our planning function, you'll support the successful delivery of MEP works on live projects and tenders across the defence, pharmaceutical, commercial, custodial, and education sectors.

This role combines technical planning expertise with strong communication and coordination skills, supporting both preconstruction and delivery stages. You'll typically manage multiple concurrent projects, acting as the sole MEP planner on each, and collaborating closely with construction planners and project stakeholders.

What will you be responsible for?

As an MEP Planner, you'll be working within the planning team, supporting them in delivering accurate, comprehensive MEP programmes that drive successful project outcomes. Your day to day will include:

• Developing and maintaining detailed MEP programmes using Asta PowerProject, aligned with construction master programmes
• Monitoring progress through regular site reviews, working with site teams and subcontractors to validate sequences and identify issues
• Presenting programme updates and planning insights to project managers, construction leads, and senior leadership
• Coordinating with design managers, commercial teams, and construction planners to proactively resolve sequencing and logistics challenges
• Supporting risk identification and mitigation through programme analysis and scenario planning

What are we looking for?

This role of MEP Planner is great for you if:

• You're an intermediate or advanced user of Elecosoft Asta PowerProject and can create fully logic-linked MEP programmes
• You have 4-6 years' on-site experience as an MEP planner, preferably in commercial, custodial, and pharmaceutical laboratory projects
• You possess a solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and public health systems in a construction environment
• You have excellent organisational skills and can manage multiple concurrent priorities with attention to detail
• You're a proactive communicator with strong interpersonal skills who enjoys working collaboratively across teams
