Road Marking Operative
We're looking for a Highways Maintenance Operative Road Marking to join our team based in Thimble Mill Lane Depot, Aston Birmingham. This is a hands-on position where you'll be working with specialist equipment and contributing to the safety and quality of our road infrastructure.
Location: Thimble Mill Lane Depot, Aston Birmingham B7 5HR
Hours: Permanent Fulltime 40 hours per week

What will you be responsible for?
As a Highways Maintenance Operative Road Marking, you'll be working within the Road Markings team, supporting them in maintaining road markings to the highest standards across our highways network. Your day to day will include:
- Maintaining road markings to high technical standards and attending project briefings
- Driving and operating specialist lining vehicles and plant, including vehicle checks and routine maintenance
- Undertaking all aspects of road marking and specialist surface application works
- Taking responsibility for safety compliance and protecting the public
- Completing risk assessments, keeping records, and liaising with clients, emergency services, and the public
What are we looking for?
This role of Highways Maintenance Operative (Road Marking) is ideal if you:
- Hold a full driving licence and enjoy working outdoors in a hands-on role
- Have experience in highways maintenance, road marking, or a similar operational environment
- Take pride in delivering high-quality work that helps keep roads safe for the travelling public
- Work well as part of a team and build positive relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders
- Are reliable, safety-focused, and committed to doing the right thing every day
