Senior Bid Manager

We're looking for a Senior Bid Manager to join our Infrastructure team.

Location: Nationwide - remote working available, with travel to the office required
Hours: Permanent Fulltime 37.5 hours per week – condensed hours will be considered There is some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us
Salary: £70,000 - £90,000 per year + private healthcare + £6.7k annual car allowance + excellent benefits

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Bid Manager, you'll play a key role within our Infrastructure team, leading the development of large, complex bids that support sustainable business growth.  Working across highways and multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects which includes term maintenance, major schemes, structures, and public realm, you'll manage the full bid lifecycle, from early engagement through to contract award and handover to delivery.

Your day to day will include:

  • Independently leading major infrastructure bids, acting as the single point of accountability from opportunity qualification through to contract award and handover
  • Developing and owning clear bid strategies and win themes tailored to client priorities, including safety, customer outcomes, network performance, and social value
  • Assembling, leading and motivating multi-disciplinary bid teams including estimators, planners, designers, commercial managers, and operational leads
  • Working closely with the Proposals Director to deliver high-quality, compliant and compelling submissions aligned to the agreed win strategy
  • Managing client relationships throughout the procurement process and leading post-tender clarifications through to preferred bidder activity

What are we looking for?

This Senior Bid Manager role is a great fit if you bring:

  • Proven experience leading major bids on highways term maintenance contracts within a Tier 1 contractor environment
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure procurement, including highways term maintenance, frameworks, and project-based delivery
  • A good understanding of NEC contracts, public-sector procurement, and key commercial drivers such as risk, programme, and cost
  • Confidence in managing and influencing stakeholders at senior internal and client levels
  • A commercially focused mindset, with the ability to balance risk, programme, and cost to deliver winning solutions
