Senior Engineer
We're looking for a Senior Engineer – Civils River Infrastructure to join our Kier Design team based in Bristol.
Location: Bristol
Hours: 40 per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.
We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.
You'll be working within Kier's 700 strong internal consultancy, supporting the delivery of Civil Infrastructure Engineering services. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to complex projects by providing safe, buildable solutions whilst achieving clients' goals. You'll be part of a growing team delivering infrastructure projects for clients such as the Environment Agency, Severn Trent, and Mining Remediation Authority.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Senior Engineer – Civils River Infrastructure, you'll be working within the Kier Design team, supporting them in delivering civil infrastructure engineering services. Your day to day will include:
- Reviewing and agreeing technical requirements with clients, ensuring full understanding and challenging where necessary
- Organising and leading the day-to-day workload of engineers and technical staff, ensuring technical compliance
- Contributing to fee proposals and the financial and commercial management of projects
- Ensuring compliance with legal requirements, Company policies including CDM Regulations and design Quality Management Systems
- Delivering alternative solutions and value engineering to enhance Kier's competitive position
What are we looking for?
This role of Senior Engineer – Civils River Infrastructure is great for you if:
- You have experience in design delivery, including multidisciplinary design
- You're comfortable using your own judgement when managing uncertainty and technical risk
- You have a minimum of 5 years of postgraduate experience in the design of hydraulic structures or river engineering
- You are a Chartered or Incorporated member of a relevant professional institution (e.g., CEng MICE)
- You hold a Full driving licence
