Senior Engineer
We're looking for an Engineer to join our Kier Construction team based in London and Thames Valley.
Location: Greater London - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required.
Hours: Full time - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.
We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.
We're looking for an experienced Engineer to join our team working on an exciting large commercial project on Oxford Street. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career whilst working on a high-profile scheme in central London. You'll be working closely with our Site Management team, providing essential technical support and helping to overcome challenges as they arise.
What will you be responsible for?
As an Engineer, you'll be working within the Site Management team, supporting them in delivering technical excellence throughout the construction process. Your day to day will include:
- Setting out works and conducting regular checks on setting out points and benchmarks to ensure accuracy
- Monitoring and inspecting work undertaken by the RC frame contractor and other trades, ensuring compliance with technical standards
- Raising technical queries with the design team and supply chain to ensure all necessary information is available
- Monitoring and reporting on the technical compliance of materials, equipment, products and workmanship
- Ensuring the site team understands all primary setting out information and can follow accordingly
What are we looking for?
This role of Engineer is great for you if:
- You have previous experience of RC basement construction and ideally RC superstructure construction with a frame contractor
- You hold an HNC or above in a Civil Engineering related discipline
- You have setting out experience and are confident using surveying instruments
- You have experience and training in temporary works
- You hold a CSCS Card and SMSTS qualification
We're all about finding potential here at Kier, and transferrable skills are always welcome! So, even if you don't tick every box, please apply and we can have a chat.

We're proud to be able to offer our brilliant people a wide variety of benefits that you can tailor to your needs. You can see more information of benefits here.
Diversity and inclusion
Making Kier a diverse and inclusive place to work is a huge priority for us. We're proud of the steps we've taken so far, but we know we must always do more. Our employees are key in shaping Kier's diversity and inclusion initiatives and our people have made a huge impact on how we work, by using their experiences to shape our policies. You can see our D&I action plan here.
As a Disability Confident employer, we will ensure that a fair and proportionate number of disabled applicants that meet the minimum criteria for this role will be offered an interview.
