Senior Planner

We're looking for a Senior Planner to join our Nuclear business team based in Hinkley Point, Somerset.

Location: Site based in Hinkley Point, Somerset, agile working available with 3 days on site at a minimum
Hours: 45 hours per week - some flexibility on start and end times available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

Kier is currently involved in a major energy project delivering nuclear grade reinforced concrete and infrastructure on one of the UK's largest projects. This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Planner to join our Nuclear business team, working initially on a project through to completion, then working on further nuclear projects within our Natural Resources, Nuclear and Networks business unit. Hybrid working is available, but you will be required to be on site at least 3 days per week.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Planner, you'll be working within the Nuclear business team, supporting them in delivering programme and project controls outputs. Your day to day will include:

• Leading planning to deliver all programme and project controls outputs under NEC Option C contract for reinforced concrete frame building construction
• Constructing and managing the production and implementation of the fully integrated master programme and phase sequence plans
• Producing programmes for acceptance, impact programmes, weekly lookaheads, project controls dashboards, reports, and programme narratives
• Analysing project metrics, particularly rates of work, to ensure key programme dates can be tracked with accuracy and displayed in project dashboards
• Supporting the commercial team to produce accurate forecasts based on labour resource and materials forecasting with reference to programme

What are we looking for?

This role of Senior Planner is great for you if:

• You have demonstrable NEC contract-based planning experience
• You are familiar with reinforced concrete frame building techniques and methodologies
• You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and feel comfortable dealing directly with clients
• You have thorough experience and understanding of programming techniques, with competency in Primavera P6
• You can work to defined, often challenging, timescales and take ownership from tender through to project completion
