Senior Planner

We're looking for a Senior Planner to join our Thames Water framework team, working on the Maple Lodge, Rickmansworth site.

Location: Maple Lodge, Rickmansworth - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required.
Hours: 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

Kier are a strategic partner to Thames Water for AMP7 and AMP8 on Capital Frameworks across the Thames Water supply and treatment regions. As a Senior Planner, you'll be joining an integrated planning team working on large, complex multi-discipline infrastructure projects in the water sector. This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering projects that have a lasting impact on communities, working with innovative solutions and contributing to essential infrastructure development.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Planner, you'll be working within the Planning team, supporting them in ensuring the successful delivery of assigned projects and packages. Your day to day will include:

• Leading the planning function to deliver all programme and project control outputs for your assigned works
• Producing comprehensive programmes from first principles using Primavera P6 software
• Ensuring full compliance with contractual requirements, including programme submissions, early warnings and change management
• Monitoring progress, identifying risks and opportunities, and providing strategic guidance to enable informed decisions
• Mentoring and managing junior members of the planning team to support their development

What are we looking for?

This role of Senior Planner is great for you if:

• You have proven successful experience in planning major, complex construction projects, preferably in the water sector (typically 5+ years)
• You're proficient in Primavera P6 and have comprehensive knowledge of planning from first principles
• You understand UK construction industry contracts such as NEC, JCT or IChemE, with a strong grasp of commercial and contractual matters
• You have excellent communication skills and can confidently work with clients, stakeholders and delivery teams
• You have a relevant construction industry or water sector related degree, or equivalent experience and training
