We're looking for a Stores Operative to join our South West Water team based in Exeter.
Location: Exewater, Exeter
Hours: 45 hours a week, Monday to Friday - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.
We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.
Join our team as a Stores Operative and play a vital role in supporting our maintenance teams across the NSA contract. You'll be at the heart of our operations, ensuring the smooth flow of materials and equipment to keep our projects running efficiently. This is a hands-on role where your organisational skills and attention to detail will make a real difference every day.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Stores Operative, you'll be working within the Logistics and Stores team, supporting them in providing essential spares and services for Kier maintenance teams. Your day to day will include:
- Managing stock by booking out parts and processing returns, including PPE distribution across various sites
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with suppliers and customers to ensure smooth operations
- Receiving and checking goods, ensuring they meet quality standards and are correctly recorded in our system
- Raising purchase orders and arranging logistics for deliveries using established methods
- Supporting invoice queries and conducting regular stock audits to maintain accuracy
What are we looking for?
This role of Stores Operative is great for you if you:
- Have strong communication skills and enjoy working with different people, from customers to suppliers
- Are confident using IT systems and MS Office applications
- Can juggle multiple tasks and priorities whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
- Are reliable, punctual, and take pride in meeting deadlines
