The role will have a huge impact on our operational sites teams and you'll help shape the future of our workforce at Kier! As our Strategic Workforce Planning Lead, you'll play a vital role in ensuring we have the right people, with the right skills, in the right place at the right time. Based in our central talent acquisition team, you'll work collaboratively across our business, combining strategic insight with data-driven planning to help build a skills based future workforce that's ready to deliver our £11.6bn order book and beyond. This role is perfect for someone with previous experience in strategic workforce planning, who enjoys working collaboratively with people. It would suit someone who can also take data and information and turn it into actionable insights to help solve challenges.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Strategic Workforce Planning Lead, you'll report to the Group Talent Acquisition Director supporting the people team in helping to identify and create a future-ready workforce that aligns with our strategic objectives. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and leading our strategic workforce planning framework, analysing trends and forecasting future needs
- Identifying future skills, skills gaps, talent risks, and critical roles across the organisation
- Building workforce planning dashboards and using data to provide meaningful insights and recommendations
- Collaborating with talent acquisition, learning & development, and operational teams to create actionable plans
- Acting as a strategic advisor to senior stakeholders, facilitating planning sessions and building strong partnerships
What are we looking for?
This role of Strategic Workforce Planning Lead is great for you if:
- You have previous experience in strategic workforce planning
- You're confident working with data, modelling, forecasting, and scenario planning
- You enjoy collaborating with senior stakeholders and can translate complex information into clear, actionable insights
- You have a good understanding of talent trends, labour markets, and workforce dynamics
- You're proactive, curious, and focused on the future with strong problem-solving skills
We're all about finding potential here at Kier, and transferrable skills are always welcome! So, even if you don't tick every box, please apply and we can have a chat.
