Sub-Agent
We're looking for a Sub Agent to join our East West Rail team based in St Neots, Cambridgeshire.
Location: St Neots, Cambridgeshire
Hours: 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.
We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Sub Agent, you'll be working within the East West Rail team, supporting them in delivering the project safely, on time and to the required quality. Working within an established Trial Trenching and Geotechnical investigation team at the East West Rail project, you'll support the Agent to manage engineering resources and ensure technical compliance of the assigned scheme. This is an opportunity to work on a significant infrastructure project, managing key aspects of trial trenching and ground investigation works whilst promoting an inclusive, one-team approach.
Your day to day will include:
- Supporting the Site Agent in managing a significant section of the project and implementing health, safety and performance excellence standards
- Coordinating drilling rigs, excavators and surveying tools, ensuring all required permits are approved and utilities clearance is safely completed
- Overseeing in-situ soil and rock testing, including Standard Penetration Tests, Hand Shear Vane, CBR, and BRE 365 soakaway tests
- Supporting cost management through robust control of Target Cost, actual costs and forecasts, ensuring all resources are accurately recorded
- Managing the handover process for individual assets in line with client procedures and maintaining quality assurance through inspection test plans
What are we looking for?
This role of Sub Agent is great for you if:
- You have a relevant degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology, Construction Management or equivalent experience
- You have experience in trial trenching and ground investigation works, with knowledge of main management systems and processes
- You possess strong attention to detail with proven people and project management skills
- You have a proactive, collaborative approach and enjoy working as part of a team to deliver objectives
- You demonstrate commercial and contractual awareness with the ability to liaise professionally with clients, representatives and the general public
