Managing Quantity Surveyor

We're looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our United Utilities Framework based in Warrington.

Location: Warrington
Hours: 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

This is an exciting opportunity to oversee the commercial and contractual aspects of construction projects, ensuring effective cost management, contract compliance, and financial performance. You'll be managing a team of quantity surveyors, working collaboratively with operational teams, and ensuring projects are delivered within budget and to the highest commercial standards. This role offers the chance to make a real impact while supporting and developing your team.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the commercial team, supporting them in delivering successful project outcomes.

Your day to day will include:

  • Leading and managing commercial delivery across multiple projects or workstreams
  • Supporting and guiding quantity surveyors in cost forecasting, valuations, reporting, and commercial administration
  • Managing subcontractor procurement, tendering, contract negotiations, and payments to ensure value for money
  • Overseeing interim applications, final accounts, variations, and claims with clients and supply chain
  • Monitoring and controlling project budgets and commercial risks, ensuring mitigation strategies are in place

What are we looking for?

This role of Managing Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:

  • You have significant experience as a managing quantity surveyor within related industry
  • You hold a professional qualification (e.g. RICS, degree/HND in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management)
  • You have a strong understanding of NEC, JCT or similar standard forms of contract
  • You have experience managing project finances throughout the full project lifecycle
  • You have a full driving licence and flexibility to attend various project sites as required
