Supervisor
We're looking for an Engineering Team Leader to join our Cambridgeshire County Council team based in Cambridgeshire County Council Sites.
Location: Cambridgeshire County Council Sites, Huntingdon
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm with one hour for lunch - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

Kier Places Workplace Solutions are recruiting now for an Engineering Team Leader to join our Facilities Management team at New Shire Hall in Huntingdon. This is a mobile role where you'll work across a range of contract sites as part of our Cambridgeshire County Council contract. You'll be based on-site, overseeing the day-to-day activities of the engineering team, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of maintenance, repairs, and project work. This is a working role that incorporates day-to-day planned and reactive maintenance tasks across the contract, and you'll be required to participate in an out of hours rota.
What will you be responsible for?
As an Engineering Team Leader, you'll be working within the Facilities Management team, supporting them in delivering exceptional service standards across the contract. Your day to day will include:
- Leading, motivating, and supporting a team of engineers and technicians to deliver planned, reactive, and project tasks to required standards
- Allocating daily workloads and ensuring work is completed on time in accordance with contract KPIs
- Overseeing and participating in both planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance tasks
- Mentoring and developing team members through regular briefings, toolbox talks, and performance discussions
- Managing team performance, annual leave, sickness absence, and ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation
What are we looking for?
This role of Engineering Team Leader is great for you if:
- You have a Level 3+ qualification in mechanical, electrical, or multi-skilled engineering
- You bring demonstrable experience in maintenance or engineering roles with leadership responsibility
- You hold a Full driving licence
- You possess strong technical knowledge in mechanical, electrical, or multi-skilled engineering with excellent problem-solving abilities
- You have strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to prioritise workload and work effectively under pressure
