Supervisor
We're looking for an experienced Drainage Supervisor to join our Birmingham highways maintenance network team based in Birmingham. This is a great opportunity to lead teams on a major city highway contract in a supportive and professional working environment.
Location: Thimble Mill Lane Depot, Birmingham
Hours: Permanent Fulltime 40 hrs per week
Salary: £36,000 - £38,000 per year + £5,000 annual car allowance + benefits

What will you be responsible for?
As a Drainage Supervisor, you'll be responsible for supervising crews carrying out gully cleansing, jetting and drainage repairs, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standards. Your day to day will include:
- Supervising drainage operatives and gangs delivering planned and reactive works
- Coordinating daily activities, allocating resources and monitoring performance
- Overseeing gully emptying, jetting and drainage repairs across the network
- Managing emergency responses to flooding and drainage issues, ensuring timely resolution
- Ensuring safe delivery of works, including traffic management and site safety
What are we looking for?
This role of Drainage Supervisor is ideal if you:
- Have experience supervising drainage, highways maintenance, or civil engineering operations
- Possess a strong understanding of highway drainage systems, network maintenance, and reactive repair activities
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment, leading operational teams and coordinating multiple workstreams safely and efficiently
- Hold relevant industry qualifications, including NRSWA Supervisor, SSSTS/SMSTS, High Pressure Water Jetting (WJA), EUSR Utilities Excavation, CAT & Genny, and First Aid
- Demonstrate excellent knowledge of health, safety, environmental and quality standards, with experience managing safe systems of work on the highway network
