Temporary Works Coordinator
We're looking for a Temporary Works Coordinator to join our A66 NTP Project team based in Penrith. This is a key role within the project team, providing technical coordination and ensuring Temporary Works are planned, designed, approved and delivered effectively to support the successful delivery of the scheme.
Location: Penrith – hybrid working
Hours: Permanent Fulltime 42.5 hours per week
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per year + private healthcare + £5,900 annual car allowance + benefits

We are currently delivering a major highways upgrade scheme on the A66, with a £250 million programme featuring improvements to two major roundabouts in Penrith and a four-year construction programme.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Temporary Works Coordinator, you'll be responsible for coordinating all aspects of Temporary Works across the scheme, working closely with both the design and site teams to ensure Temporary Works are safely and effectively delivered. Your day to day will include:
- Coordinating Temporary Works between site teams, designers and the project's Technical Assurance team
- Managing Temporary Works through the full design preparation, checking and approval process in accordance with project and client requirements
- Liaising with in-house teams, supply chain partners and external design consultants to ensure Temporary Works are progressed effectively and to programme
- Ensuring Temporary Works are implemented on site in accordance with the approved and checked design, including undertaking site inspections and audits
- Providing practical support, guidance and mentoring to members of the Temporary Works team
What are we looking for?
This role of Temporary Works Coordinator is ideal if you:
- Have proven experience coordinating Temporary Works on major civil engineering, highways, infrastructure, or heavy construction projects
- Possess strong technical knowledge across a range of Temporary Works solutions, including excavations, reinforced concrete structures, formwork, falsework, and support systems
- Understand and can confidently apply Temporary Works management procedures, design review processes, and industry best practice
- Excel at building relationships and collaborating with site teams, designers, subcontractors, and client representatives to ensure safe and efficient project delivery
- Can manage multiple Temporary Works activities simultaneously, driving designs, approvals, inspections, and implementation in line with project programmes and construction milestones
