Assistant Environmental Specialist
We're looking for an Assistant Environmental Specialist to join our team based in the North of England within the road, rail, water and property sectors. Kier Design are a highly regarded Tier 1 Contractor, with a 750 plus strong design consultancy team, recognised as a Top 30 employer on Glassdoor.
Location: North England
Hours: 37.5 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

Are you...
- Holding a degree (or working towards a degree) in an Environmental related discipline
- A graduate member of ISEP or equivalent
- Demonstrating a genuine interest in pursuing a career in environmental management and the construction industry, with clear motivation to learn and develop professionally
- Showing enthusiasm for learning new skills and knowledge, and the ability to adapt in response to feedback
- In possession of a Full driving licence
What will you be responsible for?
As an Assistant Environmental Specialist, you'll be working within the Environmental Team, supporting them in delivering environmental consultancy services across exciting projects. This role offers a wonderful opportunity for an early career Environmental Specialist to gain hands-on experience, receive mentorship from experienced professionals, and develop a strong foundation in environmental management. Due to the exciting and rapid expansion of our internal environmental consultancy services, you'll be working on a range of projects across the UK. Your day to day will include:
- Supporting the production of technical environmental documents including Environmental Impact Assessments, Management Plans and Method Statements
- Aiding in obtaining and adhering to environmental licences, permits and consents
- Carrying out inspections and Environmental Clerk of Works duties
- Helping with client, stakeholder and technical meetings
- Assisting in the preparation of bids and fee proposals
