Assistant Quantity Surveyor
We're looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our Norfolk County Council term service team based in Wymondham. This is an exciting opportunity to support the commercial function on our Norfolk County Council term service contract, helping to deliver essential highway services across the region.
Location: Wymondham, Norfolk – hybrid working
Hours: Permanent Fulltime 37.5 hours per week - condensed hours and flexible working arrangements are available just let us know when you speak to us

What will you be responsible for?
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working with experienced colleagues, gaining valuable exposure to commercial management whilst supporting them in delivering highway services effectively. Your day to day will include:
- Completing accurate take-offs and producing task price lists for task orders
- Supporting the commercial management of a portfolio of projects and maintaining scheme cost monitors
- Managing subcontractors, including issuing task orders and valuing monthly applications
- Presenting projected scheme performance at gateway meetings and producing month-end reports
- Working collaboratively with operational colleagues and clients to provide commercial advice for safe and efficient delivery
What are we looking for?
This role of Assistant Quantity Surveyor is ideal for someone who:
- Is working towards, or has achieved, a qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related construction discipline.
- Has experience within the construction, civil engineering, highways, or infrastructure sector and is keen to develop their commercial career.
- Demonstrates strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Is highly organised, with excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
- Holds a full driving licence and is comfortable travelling to site when required.
