Assistant Traffic Engineer
We're looking for an Assistant Traffic Engineer to join our Traffic Engineering team based in Brixworth, Northamptonshire. In this role, you'll support the design and delivery of a range of improvement schemes, helping to create safer, more efficient networks across North and West Northamptonshire.
Location: Brixworth, Northamptonshire – office based with agile working available
Hours: 37.5 hours per week – some flexibility on hours available; this can be discussed during the application process

What will you be responsible for?
As an Assistant Traffic Engineer, you'll contribute to the successful delivery of traffic engineering schemes, including road safety improvements and active travel initiatives such as walking and cycling routes.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Supporting the planning and delivery of traffic engineering schemes in line with specification and budget
- Producing detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD
- Assisting with the preparation of Bills of Quantities and project documentation
- Working closely with engineers and designers to develop effective technical solutions
What are we looking for?
This role of Assistant Traffic Engineer is ideal if you have:
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, with some experience in traffic engineering or highway design
- A sound understanding of traffic and highway design principles
- Experience using AutoCAD, along with relevant software such as Keysign and Keyline
- Awareness of Health & Safety requirements, including CDM 2015
