We're looking for a Business Development Manager to join our Natural Resources team 

 

Location: Flexible across the UK - must be willing to travel regularly across the UK and Ireland 

 

Hours: 37.5 hours per week – some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

As a Business Development Manager, you'll play a key role in driving growth across defined markets and sectors for our Environment business. You'll be building meaningful relationships with clients, identifying opportunities that align with our business goals, and supporting our work-winning activities from pipeline development through to secured commissions. This is an opportunity to work collaboratively with talented colleagues across business development, operations, and bid teams, contributing to our continued success in delivering impactful solutions to our clients.

 

What will you be responsible for?

 

As a Business Development Manager, you'll be supporting the Environment business in securing new opportunities and strengthening client relationships.

 

Your day to day will include:

  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities across agreed markets, maintaining an accurate pipeline to support forecasting and planning
  • Building and nurturing strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders, representing the business professionally at meetings and industry events
  • Supporting opportunity qualification processes, preparing engagement strategies and win plans in line with internal governance
  • Contributing to pre-qualification submissions, expressions of interest, and tender responses, working closely with bid and operational teams
  • Conducting market intelligence activities including client research, competitor awareness, and framework tracking to inform our approach

 

What are we looking for?

 

This role of Business Development Manager is great for you if you hold:

 

  • Experience in a business development, work-winning, or client-facing role within construction, infrastructure, environment, or professional services
  • An understanding of public sector procurement and framework-based environments
  • Strong communication and relationship- building skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities concurrently
  • Commercial awareness and attention to details
  • Motivation to develop a career in business development and work-winning
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and opportunity tracking
  • Experience supporting bids or tenders in regulated framework environments
  • Full driving licence
