Caretaker

We're looking for a Caretaker to join our Bexleyheath Academy team based in Bexleyheath.

Location: Bexleyheath Academy, Woolwich Road, Bexleyheath, DA6 7DA 
Hours: Shift pattern: 6.00am to 3.00pm and 10.00am to 7.00pm

This is an excellent opportunity to join our dedicated facilities management team at Bexleyheath Academy, where you'll play a vital role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained space for staff and students alike. You'll be part of a supportive team that values collaboration and takes pride in delivering high-quality service every day.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Caretaker, you'll be working within the facilities management team, supporting them in ensuring service delivery to a high standard. Your day to day will include:

• Carrying out building fabric repairs, adjustments, maintenance, installations, and removals including painting, changing light bulbs, and changing locks
• Undertaking daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks and planned preventative maintenance as required
• Acting as keyholder, unlocking and locking the building, setting alarms, and reporting any defects
• Accepting deliveries, distributing parcels, and moving heavy goods as needed
• Reporting building maintenance issues and ensuring the premises and grounds remain safe, warm, and properly maintained

• You have previous experience in a caretaker or porter role (desirable but not essential)
