Category Buyer

We're looking for a Category Buyer to join our Procurement team based in Rushden.

Location: Rushden – hybrid working available, with occasional travel to the office required

Hours: 37.5 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us

What will you be responsible for?

As a Category Buyer, you'll be working within the Plant and Hired Services team, supporting them in delivering timely and cost-effective temporary accommodation solutions across the Kier Group.

Your day to day will include:

• Acting as the primary liaison for project delivery teams and the operational supply chain
• Planning and agreeing procurement strategies tailored to project complexity, size, and requirements
• Managing supplier relationships, maintaining SLAs, and resolving invoicing issues
• Supporting projects with cost-effective and compliant temporary accommodation solutions
• Preparing simple cost/value project financial reports

• You have experience in procurement or category buying within construction or hire services
• You're confident in building and managing relationships with suppliers and internal teams
• You can balance project needs with commercial strategy and ensure timely delivery and compliance
