We're looking for a Crane / Lift Supervisor – Lifting Operations to join our KierBAM team based in Hinkley Point C, Somerset.

Location: Hinkley Point C, Somerset
Hours: 39 hours per week - shift pattern to be 7 on/3 off or 7 on/4 off - still to be confirmed but will be discussed at interview stage

KierBAM are a Joint Venture partnership between Kier and Bam Nuttall and has been a key contractor at Hinkley Point C since 2012, delivering major site preparation, earthworks, and infrastructure projects. We are seeking a Lift Supervisor to play a critical front-line role in the safe execution of lifting activities on site. This position is appointed under LOLER and in accordance with the HPC NNB Management of Lifting Operations Standard, with responsibility for directing and supervising lifting operations to ensure they are carried out in full compliance with the lift plan and site-specific safety procedures.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Crane / Lift Supervisor – Lifting Operations, you'll be working within the Lifting Manager team, supporting them in delivering safe and compliant lifting operations. Your day to day will include:

  • Supervising lifting operations on site to ensure they are performed exactly as outlined in the approved lift plan
  • Delivering pre-lift briefings and conducting effective shift handovers to ensure continuity of safety and information
  • Ensuring pre-lift checklists are completed and signed off before work commences
  • Exercising authority to halt any lifting operation if it is deemed unsafe or if conditions deviate from the approved lift plan
  • Providing clear direction to the lifting team and liaising with the Appointed Person to discuss variations or raise concerns

What are we looking for?

This role of Crane / Lift Supervisor – Lifting Operations is great for you if:

  • You have strong leadership presence with the ability to ensure team coordination and operational discipline
  • You possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly brief, instruct, and support teams in real time
  • You have completed an approved CPCS "Lift/Crane Supervisor" course and hold an ILM Level 3 Award including Nuclear Unit
  • You demonstrate competence in supervising lifting operations in accordance with BS 7121 and site-specific standards
  • You have vigilant situational awareness with confidence to stop operations and escalate concerns when required
