We're looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Kier BAM Joint Venture team based in Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater.

Location: Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater - can offer some working from home
Hours: 42.5 hours per week - some flexibility on start and end times available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

This is a rare opportunity to work on one of the largest and most complex infrastructure projects in Europe. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be joining the Kier BAM Joint Venture delivering works on the Hinkley Point C (HPC) project — a nationally significant nuclear programme. Working within a highly collaborative, NEC-based environment, you'll help support the commercial function across major work packages, driving performance, managing risk, and ensuring compliance within a rigorously regulated sector. This is a site-based role, however hybrid working will be accepted and we currently have a satellite office in Bridgwater.

What will you be responsible for?
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the Kier BAM Joint Venture team, supporting them in delivering the commercial and contractual aspects of this major infrastructure project. Your day to day will include:

  • Producing accurate cost reporting, forecasting and Cost Value Reconciliations (CVR), managing target cost mechanisms
  • Administering NEC Sub Contracts, overseeing early warning processes and managing compensation events
  • Supporting procurement strategy for Civil works packages and ensuring subcontractors meet nuclear compliance standards
  • Maintaining regular engagement with the Client and helping to mentor and develop the commercial team
  • Delivering accurate commercial reporting and ensuring full adherence to internal governance and compliance standards

What are we looking for?
This role of Senior Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:

  • You have proven experience working for a Contractor on a major infrastructure environment, ideally within nuclear, defence, or highly regulated frameworks
  • You possess strong knowledge of NEC contracts (Options A, C & E essential) and understanding of target cost and collaborative contracting
  • You have experience managing key subcontract packages independently with strong commercial awareness and financial control skills
  • You demonstrate strong communication and stakeholder management ability, building trusted relationships across teams and clients
  • You hold a Full driving licence and are willing to undertake security vetting

Rewards and benefits
We're proud to be able to offer our brilliant people a wide variety of benefits that you can tailor to your needs. You can see more information of benefits here.

Diversity and inclusion
Making Kier a diverse and inclusive place to work is a huge priority for us. We're proud of the steps we've taken so far, but we know we must always do more. You can see our D&I action plan here.

As a Disability Confident employer, we will ensure that a fair and proportionate number of disabled applicants that meet the minimum criteria for this role will be offered an interview.

Due to the nature of this role and the nature of the work at this site, you will be required to complete a BPSS check, which takes place before your employment, and is conducted by the Cabinet Office's United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) agency who set out a pre-requisite criteria including residency history. (Applicants with convictions will be treated on a case-by-case basis. We do not discriminate based on an applicant's conviction history or the details of any convictions disclosed to us - to read more about our programme to support people with convictions into employment, visit Making Ground. This role will also be subject to further pre-employment checks.

We look forward to seeing your application to #joinkier.
