We're looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our Kier BAM Joint Venture team based in Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater including Bridgwater Satellite Office.

Location: Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater including Bridgwater Satellite Office - can offer some working from home
Hours: 42.5 hours per week - some flexibility on start and end times available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

This is a rare opportunity to join the Kier BAM Joint Venture delivering works on the Hinkley Point C (HPC) project — one of the largest and most complex infrastructure projects in Europe. As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will play a senior commercial leadership role on a nationally significant nuclear programme, working within a highly collaborative, NEC-based environment. You'll help lead the commercial function across major work packages, driving performance, managing risk, and ensuring compliance within a rigorously regulated sector. This is a site based role however hybrid working will be accepted and we currently have a satellite office in Bridgwater.

What will you be responsible for?
As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the Kier BAM Joint Venture team, supporting them in delivering critical works on the Hinkley Point C project. Your day to day will include:

  • Leading commercial delivery across nuclear infrastructure projects, aligning strategy with framework objectives and client requirements
  • Maintaining full accountability for project commercial performance, including cost value reconciliation, forecasting, and target cost management under NEC contracts
  • Overseeing NEC contract administration, early warning processes, and compensation events whilst maintaining robust audit trails aligned with nuclear compliance standards
  • Leading procurement strategy for civil works packages, ensuring subcontractors meet nuclear compliance, security clearance, and quality assurance standards
  • Mentoring and developing the commercial team, building capability in NEC contract management and supporting professional development

What are we looking for?
This role of Managing Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:

  • You have extensive experience within a Tier 1 contractor or major infrastructure environment, with proven experience delivering on nuclear, defence, or highly regulated frameworks
  • You possess expert knowledge of NEC contracts (Options A, C & E essential) and a strong understanding of target cost, pain/gain mechanisms, and collaborative contracting
  • You have experience managing large-scale, complex, multi-disciplinary projects or programmes with strong leadership and team management capability
  • You demonstrate a strong safety-first mindset aligned with nuclear industry culture, combined with high levels of integrity, diligence, and attention to detail
  • You are collaborative, resilient, and proactive, capable of working effectively in integrated teams within highly regulated, high-pressure environments
