We're looking for a Degree Apprentice Estimator to join our Construction team based in Newcastle. You will be working towards a Level 6 apprenticeship in Quantity Surveying.  Within this role you can enjoy 26 days annual leave, 24/7 Wellbeing Support Programme, and even more https://jobs.kier.co.uk/benefits/

Construction comprises our Regional Building, Strategic Projects, Kier Places and KME. We operate across all regions– London & Southern, Western & Wales, Eastern & Midlands and North & Scotland.

Location: Newcastle

Hours: 40hrs per week 

Salary: £22,000 - with salary earning potential of £35k+ upon completion of the course! 

Start date: September 2026

How does a degree apprenticeship work? 

As a Degree Apprentice Estimator, you'll have the opportunity to gain practical experience whilst you study towards a BSc Quantity Surveyor with our university partner, Sheffield Hallam, all tuition and accommodation fees covered by us.  

 

Your day to day will include: 

  • Assisting the Estimating team with analysing tender information, bills of quantities and quotations to estimate costs
  • Supporting the Estimating team with tender estimates, cost plans and preliminary assessments
  • Attending university during pre-determined block weeks to attend lectures and meet other students on your course

To enrol onto your degree, you will need: 

  • 5 GCSE at Grade 4 or above including Maths and English
  • 2 A-Levels or equivalent Level 3 qualifications (T-Level, BTEC National Certificate / Diploma / Extended Diploma Or Advanced Diploma)
  • Other Level 3 BTEC qualifications may also be considered
