We're looking for a Highways Maintenance Delivery Technician to join our North Northamptonshire team based at Wellingborough Depot. In this exciting role, you'll work closely with a team of skilled technicians, supporting the Senior Delivery Technician and Delivery Manager to deliver high-quality highway maintenance services across the network.

Playing a key role in keeping local roads and infrastructure safe, reliable and well maintained, you'll help ensure essential highway assets continue to serve the communities that rely on them every day. Location: Wellingborough Depot, North Northamptonshire
Hours: 40 per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us
Salary: £36,050 - £37,766 per year + £5,000 annual car allowance + benefits

What will you be responsible for?

As a Delivery Technician, you'll play a key role in assessing, planning and scheduling highways maintenance works across North Northamptonshire.  Your day to day will include:

  • Using works management systems to assess, plan and schedule maintenance works for various teams
  • Ensuring works instructions are complete and verified before being scheduled to repair teams
  • Conducting site-based inspections and audits to verify compliance with health and safety, quality and environmental standards
  • Collaborating with colleagues to achieve key performance indicators and business targets
  • Supporting supervisors, community stewards and inspectors, sharing knowledge and promoting best practice

What are we looking for?

This Delivery Technician role is ideal for someone who has:

  • A current Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) qualification
  • Traffic Management 12D M7 (Lantra) certification and a strong understanding of highway traffic management practices
  • Strong IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office and digital reporting systems
  • The ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues, clients and stakeholders to deliver effective project outcomes
  • A detail-oriented and disciplined approach, with a commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
