General Foreman
We're looking for a General Foreman to join our East Hyde STW team based in East Hyde, Luton.
Location: East Hyde STW, Luton
Hours: 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.
We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a major project from the outset, working on improvements to the resilience and capacity of East Hyde Sewage Treatment Works. You'll play a vital role in overseeing daily site operations, acting as the essential link between management and the workforce whilst helping to deliver a project that will meet future growth demands and environmental standards to 2036.
What will you be responsible for?
As a General Foreman, you'll be working within the site operations team, supporting them in ensuring smooth daily operations and successful project delivery. Your day to day will include:
- Supervising and coordinating the workforce, allocating daily tasks and ensuring everyone understands their responsibilities
- Implementing and enforcing all health and safety regulations, conducting regular site inspections and toolbox talks
- Overseeing material and equipment management, monitoring project progress against schedule and ensuring quality standards are met
- Managing change on site by staying alert to conditions that may require adjustments and implementing changes as directed
- Maintaining accurate daily records including labour hours, plant usage, and material consumption to support cost control
What are we looking for?
This role of General Foreman is great for you if:
- You have significant construction experience in your trade and proven supervisory experience leading teams
- You hold SMSTS, a valid CSCS card (gold or black), and Temporary Works Supervisor qualification
- You have a strong understanding of health and safety regulations and can effectively communicate safety procedures
- You're confident reading technical drawings and have experience in the water industry with knowledge of water processes and key risks
- You possess excellent organisational skills and can manage resources efficiently whilst maintaining quality standards
