We're looking for a Group Head of Health, Safety and Wellbeing to join our Health, Safety, and Wellbeing team based.

Location: Flexible – hybrid working available, with occasional travel to offices and sites across the UK required (site/office based 3-4 days per week).
Hours: 37.5 Hours per week - 8 Month Fixed Term Contract -  Agile working around core working hours – some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

As Group Head of HSW, you'll play a pivotal role in driving our Health, Safety and Wellbeing Strategy, which is centred around Operational Safety, Engineering Safety, Behaviours, and Health and Wellbeing. You'll be an industry leader and strategic partner to our Business Divisions, collaborating closely with teams across the UK to embed best practice and enable class-leading performance.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Group Head of Health, Safety and Wellbeing you'll be working within the Health, Safety, and Wellbeing team, supporting them in implementing our HSW Strategy across the organisation. Your day to day will include:

  • Influencing and enabling Business Division HSW leads to implement strategic objectives and deliver excellent health, safety and wellbeing performance
  • Embedding and monitoring group standards and policies, ensuring they remain fit for purpose and complied with across the organisation
  • Acting as a strategic link between Group and Business Divisions, sharing new initiatives, legislation, innovation and best practice from across Kier and the wider industry
  • Liaising with regulators on new legislation and key incidents, ensuring the Group maintains full compliance with health and safety requirements
  • Driving a culture of continual improvement focused on achieving zero-harm at all levels, using leading indicators to spot trends and create effective action plans

What are we looking for?

This role of Group Head of Health, Safety and Wellbeing is great for you if:

  • You hold appropriate qualifications such as CMIOSH, Degree, NVQ or NEBOSH qualifications in Health, Safety and Wellbeing subjects
  • You have extensive knowledge of current HSW legislation and demonstrable experience of championing a positive HSW culture across a diverse business
  • You possess strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and communicate effectively at all levels, including C-suite
  • You have experience managing major incidents through the legal process, supporting teams to determine clear root cause analysis
  • You're passionate about driving improvement in HSW performance with a proven track record of delivering strategic programmes
