Head of Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HSW)

We're looking for a Head of HSW (Health, Safety & Wellbeing) to join our Natural Resources team based across our Nuclear projects.

Location: Nationwide, agile work from home or a local Kier office, travel to projects when required 
Hours: Permanent, Full Time - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

As Head of HSW, you'll lead a dedicated team of safety, health and wellbeing professionals, working closely with the HSW Director and Managing Director to shape and deliver our Nuclear Business Unit's HSW strategy. Operating at the heart of our Nuclear team, you'll ensure the highest standards of safety, occupational health and wellbeing are consistently applied across all our projects.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Head of HSW, you'll be working within the Natural Resources team, supporting them in delivering excellence in health, safety and wellbeing across Nuclear projects. Your day to day will include:

• Collaborating with the HSW Director and Business Unit Managing Director to shape and deliver the HSW strategy
• Nurturing a positive HSW culture, supporting leaders and teams to embed behaviours and standards that promote safe, healthy and sustainable ways of working
• Building strong, professional relationships with regulators, client partners, joint ventures and supply chain stakeholders to support effective collaboration
• Ensuring full compliance with Kier's Integrated Management System and all contract-specific HSW requirements across the Business Unit
• Overseeing the review and investigation of accidents, incidents and near misses, ensuring lessons learned are captured, shared and acted upon

What are we looking for?

This role of Head of HSW is great for you if:

• You have relevant experience in a comparable position, with responsibility for leading or supporting HSW activities
• You have prior experience providing leadership and support to operational and functional teams and working at a senior level
• You have detailed understanding of HSW legislation
• You have working knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 Standards
• You have the ability to lead a team, collaborating with every part of the business
