Head of IT - Demand, Governance & Intake
We're looking for a Head of IT – Demand, Governance and Intake to join our Kier team.
Location: Rushden / London - Hybrid working available with site and office visits as required
Hours: 37.5 Hours - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape how Kier manages technology, digital, data, cyber and AI demand across the organisation. As Head of IT Demand, Governance & Intake, you'll be responsible for operating Kier's single front door—ensuring every idea, request and investment follows a transparent, governed process that aligns with business strategy. You'll sit at the intersection of business ambition and technology delivery, enabling Kier to deliver at pace whilst protecting revenue, reducing risk and maintaining compliance.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Head of IT – Demand, Governance and Intake, you'll be working within the IT team, supporting them in delivering technology solutions that align with business priorities. Your day to day will include:
- Acting as the accountable owner for Kier's single front door for all technology, digital, AI, cyber and data demand
- Leading the assessment, triage, categorisation and prioritisation of all incoming demand, ensuring appropriate sponsorship and business ownership
- Establishing and operating integrated governance across Technology, Cyber Security, Data, AI and Architecture
- Maintaining a single source of truth for technology demand, investment and delivery status, providing executive reporting and portfolio insights
- Developing and maturing the governance and operating model, driving workflow automation and process simplification
What are we looking for?
This role of Head of IT – Demand, Governance and Intake is great for you if:
- You have significant experience leading portfolio, PMO, demand management, governance or intake functions in a complex organisation
- You have proven ability to establish practical governance frameworks and operating models that improve control without slowing delivery
- You have strong understanding of technology delivery, cyber security, architecture, data and AI governance
- You have experience managing prioritisation, capacity, investment and risk across multiple business stakeholders
- You are commercially aware, with strong financial discipline and the ability to link demand to business value and outcomes
