Senior Quantity Surveyor
We're looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team based in Lune Gorge, Cumbria. In this role you'll play a key role in delivering commercial excellence on our projects, working collaboratively with the team to manage contracts, drive value, and support the development of junior colleagues. This is an opportunity to use your skills and creativity to provide solutions that make a real difference.
Location: Lune Gorge, Cumbria – hybrid working
Hours: Permanent Fulltime 45 per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us
Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 per year + private healthcare _ £5,900 annual car allowance

What will you be responsible for?
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the commercial team, supporting them in delivering project success. Your day to day will include:
- Ensuring compliance with procurement strategy, including managing subcontract inquiries and tender reviews
- Managing valuations, project cashflows, and turnover forecasts with monthly cost reports and progress records
- Providing legal and contractual advice on orders and changes, handling notices and subcontractor administration
- Driving commercial initiatives and producing margin improvement plans to maximize opportunities
- Leading and managing junior staff, ensuring workload targets and commercial tasks are met
What are we looking for?
This Senior Quantity Surveyor opportunity could be a great fit if you have:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related construction discipline
- Proven experience in a commercial or quantity surveying role within a contractor environment, ideally across infrastructure, highways, or civil engineering projects
- Strong working knowledge of NEC, JCT, or other industry-standard forms of contract
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across project teams
- A full driving licence and a collaborative approach to delivering successful project outcomes
