Managing Quantity Surveyor

We're looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our Construction team based in Central London.

 

Location: Central London
Hours: Full time - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

As a Managing Quantity Surveyor for Construction – London you'll be working within our private sector team leading on a major commercial office project from pre-construction through to final account. The role is site based and you'll be responsible for ensuring the commercial objectives of the project are successfully delivered.

 

What will you be responsible for?

As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the Construction team, supporting them in delivering major construction projects. Your day to day will include:

  • Leading robust, accurate and timely cost and value reporting, ensuring commercial performance aligns with project strategy,
  • Managing and developing the commercial team, ensuring workload is covered effectively and compliance processes are followed,
  • Maximising cash flow through control, measurement and valuation of work, and managing invoicing and supplier payments,
  • Assessing, reviewing and mitigating commercial and contractual risks whilst ensuring Kier governance protocols are applied,
  • Managing subcontract letting, negotiation and financial accounting, whilst fostering strong client relationships.

What are we looking for?

This role of Managing Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:

  • You have prior experience working within the Tier 1 main contracting environment, delivering large 2-stage projects (£50m+),
  • You hold an HND/degree in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent qualification,
  • You have demonstrable experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors,
  • You're familiar with JCT forms of contract and have knowledge of current Construction Law,
  • You can demonstrate a strong understanding of monthly reporting and earned value analysis,
  • You're an excellent team player with the ability to work independently, manage your time effectively and support junior team members.
