Managing Quantity Surveyor
We're looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our East West Rail team based in St Neots, Cambridgeshire.
Location: St Neots, Cambridgeshire
Hours: 45 per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.
We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the commercial team, supporting them in delivering maximum value and profitability on the project.
Your day to day will include:
- Managing all aspects of subcontractor accounts, valuations and final accounts independently
- Preparing monthly applications for payment and compiling CVR and forecast reports
- Leading procurement activities and managing commercial KPIs to secure optimal outcomes
- Supporting the site team in cost control, reconciling costs against allowances and managing risk registers
- Mentoring and developing junior surveyors whilst maintaining effective relationships with clients and suppliers
What are we looking for?
This role of Managing Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:
- You hold a BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying
- Can work independently, managing subcontractor accounts and preparing valuations without supervision
- Have strong experience in compiling payment applications, managing procurement and preparing commercial reports
- Understand contract conditions, particularly relating to variations, payments and final accounts
- Are comfortable reconciling costs, managing risk registers and delivering proactive commercial solutions
- Enjoy leading and supporting team members whilst building trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders
