We're looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Severn Trent team based in the Midlands.

Location: Midlands – covering Severn Trent area
Hours: 45 hours per week – some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the commercial delivery of our design and build water and sewerage treatment works for Severn Trent Water. You'll lead a small team of commercial professionals, providing day-to-day commercial oversight from project inception through to completion. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your leadership skills whilst working on meaningful infrastructure projects that serve local communities.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the commercial team, supporting them in delivering a diverse portfolio of water and sewerage treatment projects.

Your day to day will include:

  • Leading and mentoring a small team of commercial professionals to deliver projects successfully
  • Managing all commercial aspects including subcontract management, change control, forecasting and final accounting
  • Preparing monthly and final payment applications, monitoring accounts against forecasts and maximising cash flow
  • Assessing and mitigating commercial and contractual risks whilst ensuring compliance with NEC Target Cost contracts
  • Building strong client relationships through regular financial updates and collaborative communication

What are we looking for?

This role of Senior Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:

  • You have experience in a similar role, particularly within framework civils or utilities contracts
  • You're familiar with NEC contracts with Target Costs and have a solid background in construction or civils
  • You hold a degree in Quantity Surveying and are working towards or have attained professional membership
  • You possess excellent IT skills including Microsoft business suite, Oracle and Causeway accounting systems
  • You hold a Full driving licence and have strong communication skills with client-facing experience
