Managing Quantity Surveyor
We're looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our Construction team based in our Essex office, to lead on a £55m school in Cheshunt.
Location: Essex office for Pre Construction, then the site location which is Cheshunt for delivery. Hybrid working with 3 days per week either in the office on site as a minimum
We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.
You will be the Commercial Lead on a £55m school in Cheshunt with a team of surveyors reporting into you. Once this project is up and running, you will also then oversee another circa £50m project, again with a team of surveyors reporting into you.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the Construction team, supporting them in delivering commercial excellence. Your day to day will include:
- Ensuring robust, accurate and timely cost and value reporting at both project and business unit level
- Managing and developing the commercial team, ensuring compliance and processes are followed effectively
- Maximising cash flow through the control, measurement and valuation of work, and the invoicing of customers and payment of suppliers
- Assessing, reviewing and mitigating commercial and contractual risks whilst ensuring Kier governance protocols are applied
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring full entitlement under the contract is achieved
What are we looking for?
This role of Managing Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:
- You hold an HND/degree in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent qualification
- You have experience in commercial management and procurement of subcontractors, including chairing meetings and measurement control
- You're familiar with ICE/NEC forms of contract and have knowledge of current Construction Law
- You can demonstrate excellent team collaboration skills whilst also working independently on your own initiative
- You have strong time management abilities and can work effectively to tight deadlines
