Network Control Centre Operator
're looking for a Network Control Room Operator to join our London Highways team, based at Pickett Lock, London. This role is central to the smooth running of our control centre, supporting Transport for London (TfL) contracts including the Highways Maintenance Project Framework and Tunnels and Pump Stations. It's a rewarding opportunity to play a key part in coordinating incident responses and helping keep London's transport network moving safely and efficiently.
Location: Pickett Lock, London – site based 5 days per week
Hours: Permanent Fulltime 42 hours per week

What will you be responsible for?
As a Network Control Room Operator, you'll be working as part of the London Highways team, the focus is on delivering a high‑quality incident response service.
Your day to day will include:
- Acting as the first point of contact for incidents, managing calls from emergency services and local authorities while prioritising demand and making informed decisions
- Monitoring incidents and deploying support resources across the network using GIS tools and multiple communication methods, including telephone, radio and data terminals
- Liaising closely with the London Traffic Control Centre and on‑site teams to ensure the right support is in place during incidents
- Accurately recording and updating incident information on computer systems, maintaining logs and producing daily reports
- Working a shift pattern including nights, sometimes as a sole worker, while actively promoting health and safety in the workplace

- Is comfortable working independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team
- Has experience managing multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment while remaining calm under pressure
- Approaches change positively and adapt well to new situations
- Is confident in organising and prioritising workloads effectively
- Uses Microsoft Office confidently in a professional setting
