Procurement Lead

We're looking for a Procurement Lead to join our Strategic Projects Business at Kier Group.

 

Location: Solihull, West Midlands

Hours: Full Time, Permanent. Flexible working options available.

 

**This role will be based initially at Solihull then moving to site in the Coventry area.

 

What will you be doing?

The Procurement Lead will be involved in the following key areas:

  • Risk, Opportunity & Value Engineering – Implement project action plans, ensuring a strong focus on risk management, opportunity identification, and value engineering, while promoting Kier Strategic Projects.
  • Procurement & Contract Management – Oversee all aspects of procurement. Setting and maintaining coherent procurement strategy, ensuring compliance with company procedures, production of high-quality subcontract documentation, and effective supply chain management.
  • Project Planning & Reporting – Develop and enforce procurement schedules, ensure appropriate reporting controls, and provide strategic guidance to improve project performance.
  • Team Leadership & Communication – Motivate and manage procurement teams, facilitate communication, conduct meetings, and support individual learning and development.
  • Process Improvement & Compliance – Monitor and review company systems, contract documents, and tendering processes to drive continuous improvement and ensure adherence to regulations. Ensure compliance with CS3 and SP procurement standards.

 

What are we looking for?

In a Procurement Lead, we would like you to demonstrate:

  • Exposure to large scale construction projects
  • NEC Contract experience would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills– both oral and written.
  • Excellent IT skills – experience of e-tendering systems
  • Committed and pro-active with adherence to quality.
  • Professional membership within construction industry preferred
