Project Engineer
We're looking for a Project Engineer to join our MEICA Reactive & Planned Works team based in Hatherleigh.
Location: Hatherleigh Office
Hours: Full Time - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

We are seeking an ambitious and motivated Project Engineer to join our expanding Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (MEICA) team delivering Reactive, RIO and Planned works across the South West Water region. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys a hands-on role, working collaboratively with operations, design, commissioning and commercial teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions that maintain and improve critical infrastructure serving local communities. The role offers significant variety, professional development opportunities and the potential to support wider business operations and frameworks across the UK.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Project Engineer, you'll be working within the MEICA team, supporting them in delivering safe, compliant and efficient projects ranging from emergency reactive response works through to planned maintenance and operational enhancements. Your day to day will include:
- Supporting the delivery of MEICA reactive, planned and small capital projects from handover through to completion
- Developing and maintaining project programmes, work schedules and coordinating labour, materials and subcontractors
- Conducting site visits, inspections and progress reviews to ensure works meet approved designs and quality standards
- Promoting a strong safety-first culture and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation and client requirements
- Building strong relationships with clients, operational teams and subcontractors while providing regular project updates
What are we looking for?
This role of Project Engineer is great for you if:
- You have an HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or related Engineering discipline
- You have experience delivering engineering projects within utilities, infrastructure, manufacturing, industrial or process environments
- You have a strong understanding of project delivery principles and can manage multiple projects simultaneously
- You hold a Full driving licence
- You have excellent communication and organisational skills with strong problem-solving capability
