Quantity Surveyor

We're looking for Quantity Surveyors to join our Southern Water framework based in Falmer 

Location: Falmer, East Sussex- mixture of home and office working 

Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

Join our Commercial team working on Kier's exciting £3.1bn Strategic Development Partnership Framework with Southern Water Services. This seven-year partnership focuses on delivering vital water and wastewater projects across the region, including capacity improvements, water safety initiatives, and resilience works. You'll play a key role in controlling costs, maximising value, and maintaining the highest safety and quality standards whilst working collaboratively across diverse teams.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the Commercial team, supporting them in delivering cost-effective solutions and maintaining project financial health.

Your day to day will include:

• Measuring works and preparing monthly and final payment applications, including cost forecasting and reporting
• Monitoring and accurately reporting on project costs and value, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements
• Supporting operational teams with procurement strategy, value maximisation techniques, and change control procedures
• Assessing and processing sub-contract payments whilst managing commercial risks and contractual notifications
• Regularly liaising with subcontractors and clients on financial updates

What are we looking for?

This role of Quantity Surveyor is great for you if you hold:

• Experience with NEC contracts and Target Costs within the construction, water or civils industry 
• Excellent IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel, and familiarity with Oracle and Causeway accounting systems
• Strong communication skills with confidence in client-facing situations
• Ability to interpret financial data, prepare cash flow forecasts, and demonstrate excellent numerical and literacy abilities
• Full driving licence
