Quantity Surveyor
We're looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our L&Q Major Works Investment Programme team based in Rainham, Essex.
Location: Rainham, Essex
Hours: 40 hours per week (08:00 – 17:00) - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

Join our dynamic team working on a 15-year partnership delivering improvement works across one of the UK's largest housing portfolios. As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a vital role in managing the commercial and financial performance of projects, helping to maximise planned gross margin through effective procurement, administration and control. You'll support the delivery of internal, external and complex workstreams, developing clear scopes of work, supporting robust tender processes, and building effective supply chain relationships.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the L&Q Major Works Investment Programme team, supporting them in delivering improvement works across a major housing portfolio. Your day to day will include:
- Managing the commercial and financial performance of assigned projects to maximise planned gross margin
- Appointing contractors and subcontractors and placing orders for materials and plant within delegated authorities
- Measuring and valuing work to support invoicing of customers and payment to suppliers
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, contractors and subcontractors
- Identifying contractual, commercial and operational risks and proposing ways to mitigate them
What are we looking for?
This role of Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:
- You have diverse and clear communication skills with experience of effective communication with multidisciplinary teams, client teams and sub-contractors
- You have experience within a similar role
- You have strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
- You have the ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tasks
- You can use a range of IT packages including Microsoft Office and bespoke packages
