Section Engineer

We're looking for a Section Engineer to join our Earthworks team based in Hinkley Point C.

Location: Hinkley Point C
Hours: Project shift pattern – 11 days on, 3 days off (starting every other Monday), 07:00 – 17:00

We're seeking a well-rounded individual to join our Earthworks team at Hinkley Point C. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a large-scale project where you'll use your technical knowledge and communication skills to support effective delivery across multiple organisations. You'll play a key role in ensuring technical compliance, whilst delivering work safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Section Engineer, you'll be working within the Earthworks team, supporting them in delivering large scale earthworks operations with technical compliance and quality. Your day to day will include:

• Coordinating and analysing data using digital dashboards and drone survey information
• Overseeing technical delivery of material classification, ensuring compliance with design specifications and project requirements
• Monitoring site progress, conducting inspections and quality checks to ensure work meets contractual and regulatory standards
• Identifying and resolving issues, collaborating with project managers, site teams, subcontractors and regulatory authorities
• Maintaining accurate site records, including progress reports, quality documentation, and as-built information

This role of Section Engineer is great for you if:

• You have a degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification
• You have experience working on major earthworks projects
• You enjoy collaborating with people and project teams to achieve shared goals
• You have awareness of material processing, testing and geological properties
• You have excellent communication skills and a questioning attitude to ensure technical compliance
