Senior Quantity Surveyor
We're looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Minor Civils Framework team based in Hinkley Point C, Somerset.
Location: Hinkley Point C, Somerset (satellite office in Bridgwater with regular visits to site)
Hours: 42.5 hours per week - 8AM – 5PM - some flexibility on start and end times available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

This is an exciting opportunity to work independently managing all assigned commercial activities within a nuclear licensed site environment. You'll have overall day-to-day commercial responsibility for the delivery of works from inception to completion, supported by our wider commercial team including Commercial Manager(s). This role offers the chance to make a real impact on a significant infrastructure project whilst developing your career in a supportive and collaborative environment.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the Minor Civils Framework team, supporting them in delivering the commercial function on a nuclear licensed site. Your day to day will include:
- Managing and measuring works carried out, reconciling to Target Cost and preparing monthly and final applications for payment
- Placing and financially managing sub-contract agreements, including assessing and processing payment applications
- Providing guidance and support to operational teams on contract compliance, value maximisation and procurement strategy
- Monitoring, forecasting and reporting on project cost and value, whilst identifying change and supporting Change Control procedures
- Mentoring junior team members and maintaining regular liaison with the Client on project financial updates
What are we looking for?
This role of Senior Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:
- You have experience working with NEC contracts with Target Costs within the construction or civils industry
- You can demonstrate strong financial and commercial acumen with a proven track record of achievement
- You have extensive experience drafting effective contractual correspondence and facilitating collaborative solutions
- You possess excellent communication skills with client facing experience and proven negotiating and team-working abilities
- You hold a Full driving licence and have first-hand experience of ERP systems such as Coins or Causeway along with Full Membership with RICS / CICES status (or nearing completion)
