We're looking for a Section Engineer to join our Thames Water framework team based on site in Maple Cross, Rickmansworth.

Location: Maple Lodge STW, Rickmansworth, occasional travel to offices may required.
Hours: 45 per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

Join us as a Section Engineer on one of Thames Water's most significant infrastructure upgrades at Maple Lodge Sewage Treatment Works. This major scheme will play a vital role in increasing treatment capacity, improving environmental performance and strengthening long-term resilience for the region. It's an opportunity to be part of a high-profile project that combines complex civil, mechanical, electrical and process engineering challenges with meaningful outcomes for customers, communities and the environment.

This is a rare chance to take ownership of a critical section of works on a project designed for the future, supporting population growth, tighter environmental standards and greater operational security through major new assets, upgraded treatment processes and enhanced site-wide infrastructure.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Section Engineer, you'll be working within the site engineering team, supporting them in delivering technical assurance and coordinating between design, delivery and commercial functions. Your day to day will include:

  • Managing site setting out and surveying activities, ensuring minimal delays from design or engineering issues
  • Interpreting design documentation and ensuring works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings and specifications
  • Supporting construction teams with technical queries, resolving design conflicts and driving value engineering initiatives
  • Coordinating temporary works designs and approvals in line with site requirements and programme
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards, CDM regulations and internal quality procedures

What are we looking for?

This role of Section Engineer is great for you if:

  • You have an HNC/HND or Bachelor's degree (or demonstrable equivalent experience) in a civil engineering discipline
  • You have practical experience working on infrastructure or wastewater construction projects, with a focus on engineering assurance
  • You can read and interpret construction drawings, technical specifications and design packages
  • You have strong problem-solving skills with a focus on technical detail and site coordination
  • You hold a valid CSCS card and Full driving licence

We're all about finding potential here at Kier, and transferrable skills are always welcome! So, even if you don't tick every box, please apply and we can have a chat.
